3x + 4 = 2x - 3
3x - 2x = -3 - 4
x = -7
or
3x + 4 = -(2x - 3)
3x + 4 = 3 - 2x
3x + 2x = 3 - 4
5x = -1
x = -1/5
or
-(3x + 4) = 2x - 3
-3x - 4 = 2x - 3
-3x - 2x = -3 + 4
-5x = 1
x = -1/5
or
-(3x + 4) = -(2x - 3)
-3x - 4 = 3 - 2x
-3x + 2x = 3 + 4
