Question 344737: The product of two consecutive even integers is 76 more than 2 times their sum. Find these two positive integers
Answer by user_dude2008(1862) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x(x+2)=2(x+x+2)+76
x^2+2x=2x+2x+4+76
x^2+2x=4x+80
x^2+2x-4x-80=0
x^2-2x-80=0
(x-10)(x+8)=0
x-10=0 or x+8=0
x=10 or x=-8
Numbers: 10, 12
