Find three consecutive positive even integers such that the product of the second and third integers is twenty more than ten times the first integer
-----------
1st 2x-2
2nd 2x
3rd 2x+2
---------------
Equation:
(2x)(2x+2) = 10(2x-2)+20
4x^2 + 4x = 20x-20+20
4x^2+4x= 20x
4x^2-16x = 0
4x(x-4) = 0
x = 0 or x = 4
--------------------
To get positive even integers let x = 4:
1st: 2x-2 = 6
2nd: 2x = 8
3rd: 2x+2 = 10
--------------------
