Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Three times the greater of two consecutive odd integers is five less than four times the smaller. Find the two numbers.
--------------------------
1st odd integer: 2x-1
Next odd integer: 2x+1
--------------------------------
Equations:
3(2x+1) = 4(2x-1)-5
---
6x+3 = 8x-4-5
6x+3 = 8x-9
2x = 12
x = 6
---
1st odd: 2(6)-1 = 11
2nd odd: 2(6)+1 = 13
