When he finds her she tells him that he must row back upstream the same distance to defuse a bomb set by the nefarious Dr. Fiendish. The bomb is timed to go off in 3 hours...and bond just barely arrives in time to defuse it. what is bond's rowing speed in still water, and what is the speed of the current? Use a 5 step solution including a table and a check. Please! Please! Please help me with my problem!!!

Rescuing the damsel, he rows 6 mph.
rate*time=distance.
6 mph *1 hr. =6 miles downstream with current
x mph *3 hr. =6 miles upstream against
x=2 mph speed against current
6-2=4 mph difference in rates
4/2=2 mph rate of current
6-2=4 mph rate without current
4+2=6 mph with current
4-2=2 mph against current
