Question 240704: for problems 5 and 6 solve the system of equations using substitution to eliminate one variable. if the system has no solution, indicate thaqt it is inconsistent. if it has infinite solutions, indicate that it is dependent. if the system has a solution, check your answer.
y=2x
3x+y=20
check (if possible)
please please please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=2x
3x+y=20
Sub for y into the 2nd eqn
3x+2x = 20
5x = 20
x = 4
--------
y = 8
