The Greater of two consecutive integers is 15 more than twice the smaller. Find the integers.

Let x and y be the integers
Without loss of generality assume that x is the greater of the two integers.
so we have x= 15 + 2y.
Since the integers are consecutive and x is greater than y, we know that y = x - 1.
So, we have x = 15 + 2(x-1).
x = 15 + 2x - 2. (Distribute the two.)
x = 13 + 2x.
0 = 13 + x.
Now subtract 13 from both sides.
-13 = x
Now y = x - 1 = (-13) - 1 = (-14).
Check: 15 + (-14)*2 = 15 + (-28) = -13.
The integers are -13 and -14.
