His work place And home are 45 miles apart and it takes him twice as long to get to work from his home than the other way around. It is a 30minute drive from his work place to home. What is the average speed for the round trip in miles?

Ignore the following; I read the problem as having him go to work, back home, and then back to work again....

30 minutes returning home means 60 minutes going to work. So he drives 3*45 = 135 miles in 60+30+60 = 150 minutes, or 2.5 hours. His average speed is 135/2.5 = 54 miles per hour.

The corrected solution has him driving 90 miles in 1.5 hours, an average of 90/1.5 = 60 miles per hour.
