n + n+2 = 10 or -10

Let the nos be n and n+2 (difference of even numbers)
n + n + 2 = 2n + 2
( 2n + 2 )^2 = 100
4n^2 + 8n + 4 = 100
n^2 + 2n + 1 = 25
n^2 + 2n - 24 = 0
solve to obtain
n = 4 or -6
overlook the negative one
hence, the numbers are 4 and 6
