Question 105830: what is twice the greater of two consecutive odd integers is 13 less than three times the lesser number
Answer by checkley75(3666)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
LET X & (X+2) BE THE 2 CONSECUTIVE INTEGERS.
2(X+2)+13=3X
2X+4+13=3X
2X-3X=-4-13
-X=-17
X=17 ANSWER FOR THE SMALLER INTEGER.
17+2=19 FOR THE LARGER INTEGER.
PROOF
2*19+13=3*17
38+13=51
51=51
