Half of the smaller of two consecutive even integers is equal to two more than the larger integer.
:
Two consecutive even integers: a, (a+2)
:
.5a = (a+2) + 2
.5a - a = 2 + 2
-.5a = 4
a = 4/-.5
a = -8 then -6 is the other integer
:
:
See if that works
.5(-8) = (-8+2) + 2
-4 = - 6 + 2
