Make the smallest number = 'x'
Middle number = 1 + 2x
Largest number = 2 + 3x
x + (1 + 2x) + (2 + 3x) = 21
Remove brackets
x + 1 + 2x + 2 + 3x = 21
Collect like terms
x + 2x + 3x = 21 - 1 - 2
6x = 18
x = 3
Smallest number = 3
Middle number = 7
Largest number is 11
