I believe your textbook might reference a phrase "equally likely" or something along those lines. At least that term was used in my Discrete Mathematics book in Undergrad. What this means in relation to your question, is that if an unbiased coin is tossed, then there are two possible outcomes that are equally likely to occur: heads or tails. For example, the chances of the coin turning heads up is one out of two potential outcomes or in other words, 1/2 = 0.5. This set will be denoted as P({H}) = 0.5 and all possible outcomes are {H, T}.
