Question 972409: Suppose that on any given day a student oversleeps with probability .3, finishes his daily assignments with probability .2. Determine the probability that on a given day the student wakes up on time, but fails to complete his assignment.
I have tried to fill in the days but am not sure how many days this happens.

Probability is 0.7 * 0.8=0.56.
It is a conditional probability, and it is the product of the two. There are 4 possible outcomes, and they sum to 1.
