Heights of women have a mean of 162 cm and a standard deviation of 7cm. Relative to the population of the same gender who is taller?
Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The man is (234-180)/5 = 54/5= + 10.8 SD
The woman is (218-162)/7 =56/7= 8 SD
The man is taller relative to the population, because he is further from the mean by a standard measure of variability.
