Question 970854: Eight basketball players are to be selected to play in a special game. The players will be selected from a list of 27 players. If the players are selected randomly, what is the probability that the 8 tallest players will be selected assuming none of the players are the exact same height?

The probability is the same as picking 8 specific numbers out of 27. There is only one way to do it. While one could pick the second tallest player first, the second tallest player will eventually be picked. In other words, the denominator is unchanged, and while the specific numerator for a fraction may change, the total product will not.
(8/27)*(7/26)*(6/25)*(5/24)*(4/23)*(2/22)*(1/21) = 0.000009
