Question 947680: Can a probability of an event be 5/4?give reason for your answer

Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the highest probability is 1 which means 100% probability.
100% probability means it will always occur.
likewise the lowest probability is 0 which means 0%.
0% probability means it will never occur.
something cannot happen more than 100% of the time.
something cannot happen less than 0% of the time.
since 5/4 is greater than 1, then no event can have a probability of 5/4.
