Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
X 0 1 2 3 4
P(X) 0.12 0.16 0.24 0.30 0.18

Multiply each X value by its corresponding P(X) value

0*0.12 = 0
1*0.16 = 0.16
2*0.24 = 0.48
3*0.30 = 0.90
4*0.18 = 0.72

Now add up the products:

0+0.16+0.48+0.90+0.72 = 2.26

-------------------------------------------------------

So the mean is 2.26
