Question 928161: If
n(A) = 5, n(A ∪ B) = 8, and n(B) = 5,
then what is
n(A ∩ B)?

Answer by MathLover1(20849)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

If n(A) = 5, n(B) = 5, and n(A U B) = 8, then

n(A U B) = n(A) + n(B) - n(A ∩ B)
8 = 5 + 5 - n(A ∩ B)
n(A ∩ B) = 5 + 5 - 8
= 10 - 8
= 2 ...................Ans.
