A survey was conducted in a city that distributes two newspapers, the chronicle and daily times. Of 100 people surveyed, 80 said that they subscribed to chronicle, 65 said that they subscribed to the daily times and 15 said they subscribed to neither.
--------
Draw a Venn Diagram with two intersecting circles inside a rectangle.
----------------
Label a circle C = 80
Label the other circle DT = 65
Label the empty space in the rectangle as 15
Label the rectangle as 100
-------------------------------------
Label the intersection of the two circles as "x".
Equation::
subscribers = subscribers
80 + x + 65 = 100 - 15
145 + x = 85
x = -60
------
Ans:: The intersection contains 60 subscribers.
60 people subscribe to both papers.
