Question 87992: i need help with these problems:
The first problem:
Section topic: Frequency distributions; Measures of Central Tendency
Under what circumstances would the mode be an appropriate measure of central tendancy?
The second problem is:
Find the mean for the following. Round to the nearest tenth.
The chart looks like:
The table is a 2 by 4
Value / Frequency
9 / 3
12/ 5
15/ 1
18/ 1
this is what i did i found the total for frequency then for i added a third colum multiply the value and frequency and then i added all the results for that colum and then dividen the total for the third colum over the total for frequency thats how i got 11.3 and it asks to round to the nearest tenth
So the answer i got was 11.3 but when i rounded to the tenth it would be 11.0 Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! When you rounded 11.3 to the TENTH you should get 11.3.
You rounded to the TEN to get your answer.

Your procedure was correct. Watch out when rounding.
