Question 872336: A jar contains 18 red jelly beans, 22 yellow jelly beans, and 14 orange jelly beans. Suppose that each jelly bean has an equal chance of being picked from the jar. If a jelly bean is selected at random from the jar, what is the probability that it is not red?
Would you be kind to show the solution, please? Thank you.

Answer by manu17(3)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
as you have to know the probability that it is no red means yellow or orange
i.e., 22 yellow jelly beans+14 orange jelly beans=36
total jelly beans you have = 18+22+14=54
so probability of not red=36/54=2/3
your answer is 2/3
