patches are resistance so that the proportion removed in any subsequent
application is only one half that of the preceding application. Find the
probability that a mildew patch will survive 3 applications.
Q5. The number of butterflies appearing in a garden follows a Poisson distribution
with a mean of 10 butterflies per hour. Find the probability of there being
(a) exactly 5 butterflies in a 30 minute interval,
(b) at most 3 butterflies in a 10 minute interval,
(c) more than 4 butterflies in a 15 minute interval,
(d) exactly 1 butterfly in each of three consecutive 5 minute intervals.
really confused on these questions, help would be nice maybe a solution to how I go about working them out, thankyou
