Question 841348: if the possible values for x are 0,1,2,3,4,5 and the corresponding values for p(x) are .2,.2,.15,.3,.35,.2,.1 respectively, does p(x) qualify as a probability function
Answer by Fombitz(32388) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First, you have 6 x values and 7 probability values.
That doesn't really matter.
Your probability values need to sum to 1.
Since they don't sum to 1, this cannot be a probability function.
