Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the solution for
Maximizing Z = 2X+Y subject to constraints X is greater then or equal to 0;
Y is greater then or equal to 0;
Comment: These two constraints limit the solution to the 1st Quadrant.
--------------
x + 2y less then or equal to 4
Solve for y and graph:
y <=(-1/2)x+2
-------------------------
Find the intersections of the three inequalities:
Then are (0,0), (0,2) and (4,0)
Evaluate Z=2x+y for each of these intersection points:
(0,0) Z = 0
(0,2) Z = 2
(4,0) A = 8
-----------------
The maximum occurs when x=4 and y=0
