1.3% of DVDs sold have video defects, 0.7% have audio defects, and 0.3% have both audio and video defects.
(a) What is the probability that a DVD purchased by a customer will have a video or audio defect?
(b) What is the probability that a DVD purchased by a customer will not have a video or audio defect?

a) 1.3%+0.7%-0.3% = 1.7%
Answer: 0.017
b) 1- 0.017 = 0.983
Answer: 0.983
