Question 773043: Suppose it is 11 to 5 against a person who is now 38 years of age living till he is 73 and 5 against 3 against B now 43 living till he is 78.Find the chance that at least one of these persons will be alive 35 years hence.
Answer by oscargut(2103) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let A and B those persons
P(A live 35 years more) = 1-11/16
P(B live 35 years more) = 1- 5/8
P( at least A or B live 35 years more) = 1-(1-P(A))(1-P(B)) = 1-(11/16)(5/8)
= 1-55/128 = 73/128
Answer: 73/128
