Question 766001: What is the probability that a 3-digit number has an odd digit in the hundreds place?
Answer by ramkikk66(644) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Total number of 3 digit numbers = 900 (100 through 999)
There are 5 odd digits - 1,3,5,7,9
There are 500 3-digit numbers that have an odd digit in the 100's place
(100 to 199, 300 to 399 etc.)
So the probability that a 3 digit number has an odd digit in the 100's place
= 500/999 = 5/9
