Question 760401: Class records at a certain college indicate that a student selected at random has a probability of 0.77 of passing Accounting 1. If that student passes Accounting 1, the probability that they will pass Accounting 2 is .90. What is the probability that they will pass both classes?
I think I need to understand how to figure this problem out (not just see an answer) I don't understand how to get the solution. Thanks!

Class records at a certain college indicate that a student selected at random has a probability of 0.77 of passing Accounting 1. If that student passes Accounting 1, the probability that they will pass Accounting 2 is .90. What is the probability that they will pass both classes?

P(pass 1) = 0.77
-----
P(pass 2 | pass 1) = 0.90
----
P(pass 1 AND pass 2) = P(pass 2 | pass 1)*Pass(1) = 0.90*0.77 = 0.6930
