Question 750719: A machinist drilled a conical hole into a cube if metal if the cube has sides of length 5cm what is the volume of the cube after the hole is drilled round your answer to the nearest hundredth Use 3.14 for pi
Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Calculate the volume of the original cube by raising the measure of one edge to the third power. Then calculate the volume of the conical hole, which I cannot help you with because you didn't bother to give any dimensions for the hole or describe whether it only went part way through the cube and is thus an entire cone or whether the hole went all the way through so that it is a frustum. Once you have the volume of the hole, subtract that from the volume of the cube.
Next time you post a problem here READ the instructions, and continue to read them until you get it. Especally the instruction that says "Ask your question clearly and fully so that it MAKES SENSE. We are not mind readers. We do not have your textbook in front of us. All we know is what you wrote." Please do not write back to me for this problem as I may not have time to get to you today. Re-post the problem with ALL of the information.
