Question 672188: there are 4 colas, 1 ginger ale, 7 root beers and 6 cheery sodas in the cooler what are the odds of choosing a cola

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Odds IN FAVOR OF choosing a cola =

number of colas TO number of UNcolas
or
              4 TO 1+7+6
or
              4 TO 14

Then since both can be divided evenly by 2

              2 TO 7

Odds AGAINST choosing a cola would be just the reverse 7 TO 2

Often the word "TO" is replaced by a colon ":"
