Life expectancy in 2000 National center for Health Stats. indicated a new record for avg. life expectancy 76.9 years for he total US population. Avg for men is 74.1 and women 79.5, which average is being used, and explain.
---------
If you find the average of the 74.1 and the 79.5 you get 76.8. They
may have weighted the women's life expectancy because there are more
senior women than senior men. That may account for their using 76.9
instead of 76.8
