34. What is the probability that three people will all randomly select the same wheel of a tricycle? ____
There are three possibile ways they can all select the same wheel,

1. All select the front wheel.
2. All select the left rear wheel.
3. All select the right rear wheel.

So the numerator of the probability (the number of successful ways) is 3.

There are 3 ways Tom can selecet a wheel. For each of those 3 ways that Tom
can select a wheel, there are 3 ways that Dick can select a wheel. That's
3×3 or 9 ways Tom and Dick can select wheels. For each of those 3×3 or 9 ways
Tom and Dick can select wheels, there are 3 ways Harry can select a wheel,
That's 3×3×3 or 9×3 or 27 ways Tom, Dick, and Harry can select wheels.

Answer: 3 ways out of 27. "Out of" in probability means "over". So the answer
is which reduces to

Hi,
Note: The probability of x successes in n trials is:
P = nCx* where p and q are the probabilities of success and failure respectively.
In this case p = 1/3 & q = 2/3
nCx =
P(x = 3) =
