If you are dealt two cards successively ( with replacement of the first) from a standard 52-card deck, find the probability of getting a face card on the first card and an ace on the second.
The probability of a face card on the first draw = 12/52 because there are 12 face cards (J,Q,K x 4 of each) and 52 cards in the deck.
The card is put back and now you want to draw an ace. There are 4 aces out of the 52 cards in the deck so the probability of drawing an ace = 4/52.
So, the combined probability = = about
1.78%.
