Question 626204: If the probabilities are respectively, 0.09, 0.15, 0.21 , and 0.23 that a person purchasing a new automobile will choose the colors green, white, red or blue, what is the probability that a given buyer will purchase a new automobile that comes from one of these color?
Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
green = .09
white = .15
red = .21
blue = .23
sum of these probabilities is equal to .68
that means that the probability that a buyer will not pick any of these colors is equal to 1 - .68 = .32
the probability that a buyer will pick one of these colors is equal to .68 which is the sum of the probabilities for each color.
