The sum of any two ODD numbers is always EVEN.
The sum of any two EVEN numbers is always EVEN.
It follows that the sum of any four ODD numbers is always EVEN.

Thus the sum of five ODD numbers is always ODD. Since 50 is EVEN, is cannot be the sum of five odd numbers.
