Question 616146: Consider a population with µ=74.5 and σ=3.04.
(A) Calculate the z-score for x=75.7 (the x has a line over it) from a sample of size 18.
(B) Could this z-score be used in calculating probabilities using Table 3 in Appendix B of the text? Why or why not?
I got the answer for part (A) as (75.7 - 74.5) / [3.04 / sqrt (18)] = 1.674
I need help with part (B) please
TABLE 3 Cumulative Areas of the Standard Normal Distribution
The entries in this table are the cumulative probabilities for the standard normal distribution z (that is, the normal distribution with mean 0 and standard deviation 1). The shaded area under the curve of the standard normal distribution represents the cumulative probability to the left of a z-value in the left-hand tail.

Hi,
population with µ=74.5 and σ=3.04.
(A) Calculate the z-score for x=75.7 (the x has a line over it) from a sample of size 18.
good work.
Below: z = 1.674 represented by blue line
