Question 606273: expert hits a target 95% of the times. What is the probability that the expert will miss the target for the first time on the 15'th shot
Answer by Edwin McCravy(20063)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
P(hit 4 times in a row and miss the 5th time)

P(hit AND hit AND hit AND hit AND miss)

"AND" is associated with multiplication:

P(hit)·P(hit)·P(hit)·P(hit)·P(miss) =

(.95)·(.95)·(.95)·(.95)·(1-.95) = (.95)4(.05) = .0407253125.

You might think that's low but just think, if he gets 95 out of 100 shots,
the chances are slim that he would have already missed one of the 5 that soon.
