Question 601345: a 95% confidence interval for a population mean was reported to be 152 to 160. if standard deviation is 15, what sample size was used in this study?
Answer by flame8855(424) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
lets calculate the mean :
mean = 152+160/2= 156
lets take one of the extremity
160=156 +1.96(15)/sqrt(n)
4=29.40/sqrt(n)
n= 54.02
So the sample size is about 54
