Question 590832: In a shipment of 400 parts, 14 are found to be defective. How many defective parts should be expected in a shipment of 1000?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
400/14 = 1000/x
400x = 14*1000
400x = 14000
x = 14000/400
x = 35
So you should expect 35 defective parts in a shipment of 1000 parts.
