There are
different ways to select 3 candies
Note: this is assuming order doesn't matter
Of these 165 ways, there are only 6 ways to select 1 cherry candy and 2 lemon candies. Why 6? Since there are only 2 lemon candies and there are 3 slots, this means that there's only one slot left for the cherries. There are 6 cherries to fill that last slot.
So the probability is
