Question 581985: I need Help Please!!!!!!!!!!
T-Tests
•Choose and calculate the appropriate analysis to compare the anxiety levels of the participants in the CBT treatment to those in the psychodynamic treatment using posttest scores only.
•Choose and calculate the appropriate analysis to compare the anxiety levels of participants in the CBT group only at pre- and posttest.
Here is the information in order to do the calculations:
SubjectID.....Pre-RCMAS....Post-RCMAS
1.................23............8
2.................22............15
4.................26............11
5.................20............15
7.................25............4
8.................22............14
Okay I have to use either independent t-tests or paired t-tests or one sample t-test in order to complete this assignment. I have to show all work inlcuding all calculations. The Subject ID is not important. I need help I have no idea on how to to this please help.

SubjectID.....Pre-RCMAS....Post-RCMAS.....Difference
1.................23............8.............-15
2.................22............15............-7
4.................26............11............-15
5.................20............15............-5
7.................25............4.............-21
8.................22............14............-6
------
The data sets are dependent because the Pre and Post numbers
relate to the same tested person.
---
Ho: u(diff) = 0
Ha: u(diff)# 0
----
sample mean: mean of the differences = -11.5
std of the diffs: 6.442
------
test statistic: t(-11.5) = -11.5/[6.442/sqrt(8)] = -5.049
---
p-value = 2*P(t<-5.049 when df = 7) = 2*cdf(-100,-5.049,7) = 0.0015
Conclusion: Since the p value is less than 5%, reject Ho.
The test results support Ha.
------
Note: Your problem says to use only the Post-RCMAS data for
the testing. I don't know of anyway to test data against itself.
