You pull a card out of a standard 52-card deck and you pull one card out of another standard deck. What is the probability of pulling a 3 at least once?

Each deck has 4 threes.
getting one 3 is 1/13 + 1/13
getting two is 1/13 * 1/13 = 1/169

Then 2/13 - 1/169 = 25/169. It's subtracted because getting one 3 is included in getting two 3's.
