In the figure above, the length of AB is 2x and the length of BC is 3x. If a point is chosen at random from AC, what is the probability that the point will lie on BC?
Prob(BC) = (BC)/(AC) =(3x)/(2x+3x)=(3x)/(5x)= 3/5
