Claim: the population mean is greater than 948. Sample data: n = 100, x-bar = 972, s = 10.8. The data was taken from a simple random sample collected from a population with a standard distribution that appears to be far from normal, where standard deviation is unknown.
I need to identify the null and alternative hypothesis and identify the sampling distribution (normal, t, chi-square) of the test statistic.
Would Ho: = 948 and H1: > 948 be the correct hypothesis?
