The standard deviation of heights for the population of the old corn variety is 3.5 inches and the population has a normal distribution. A simple random sample of new corn variety provides the following data: n = 36, s = 1.2.
I have to identify null hypothesis, the alternative hypothesis, and identify the sampling distriubtion of the test statistic (normal, t, chi-square).
