Question 530870: I have a statistics probability problem that I need help with:
I am writing the problem in words since it does not show up correctly as a formula on the preview screen
the probability P (negative c is smaller than z is smaller than c) = 0.4648

I visualize that the area on a bell curve goes from the left (negative) point C through 0 (zero) to point c on the right (positive) side. Is that correct?
That would mean I calculate it this way
1 - 0.4648=0.4647 (which is the area outside)
then 0.4647: 2=0.2324 which is according to the table approx 0.6.
Is this correct? Is there a faster way to get there?

Since 0.2324 area is to the left of the mean,
there is a left tail of 0.5-0.2324 = 0.2676

Then c = invNorm(0.2676) = -0.6201

Ans: -0.6201 < z < +0.6201
