Question 525507: A survey by a college revealed 60 percent of its students made C or more in Introduction to Algebra course last year. Two students are selected at random. What is the probability both made C or more last year?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
P(Both got C's) = P(One student got a C)*P(Another student got a C)

P(Both got C's) = 0.6 * 0.6 .... Note: 0.6 is the decimal equivalent of 60%

P(Both got C's) = 0.36

So the probability that both got C's or better is 36%
