what is the slope and the y intercept of 8y+6x+4=12+6x
------------
Subtract 6x from both sides.
Subtract 4 from both sides.
------------
8y = 8
y = 1
----
That is a horizontal line thru all points where y = 1
Slope = 0
---
y-intercept is (0,1)

You must do the algebra to get the equation into slope-intercept form: y = mx+b
.
subtract 4 from both sides
8y+6x+4-4=12-4+6x
8y +6x = 8 +6x
.
subtract 6x from both sides
8y +6x-6x = 8 +6x-6x
8y = 8
.
divide both sides by 8
8y/8 = 8/8
y = 1
.
This is a horizontal line. For all values of x, y = 1. The slope = 0 because there is no change in y. The y-intercept is at (0,1). The line is parallel to the x-axis, so there is no x-intercept.
