f(x) = -x is the more basic function.
It has not been shifted via g (i.e., raised to 3 power).
Not reflected either (2 power would have done something like that).
I would say stretched, not compressed, but that depends on the definition used.
It is stretched along the Y axis, compressed along the x axis.
